What biblical counseling actually looks like

Biblical counseling is not a list of Bible verses handed to you while your pain sits unnamed. It is not a formula. It is not a correction. It is a conversation — rooted in Scripture and held with care — that takes your real life seriously.

Judy doesn’t rush to answers. She listens first. She asks questions. She brings God’s Word to what you are actually walking through, and lets Scripture do its work at the pace it needs to.

You might already know why you’re here

Maybe your marriage is struggling and you don’t know where to turn. Maybe anxiety has followed you into every room. Maybe grief has settled in and you’re not sure it will lift. Maybe prayer feels hollow in a way you’re afraid to admit out loud.

You don’t have to have it figured out before you reach out. You don’t have to be in crisis. And you don’t have to explain yourself perfectly.

Judy counsels women who are —

  • Struggling with anxiety, fear, or grief
  • Walking through marriage difficulties or relational pain
  • Feeling spiritually stuck or distant from God
  • Carrying guilt, loss, or a heaviness they can’t quite name
  • Looking for a place to bring what is real

Judy also offers counseling for married and engaged couples alongside her husband, Scott Weckerly.

Your first conversation

Reaching out is the hardest step for most people. Here is what happens when you take it.

You send a message

A short note — as much or as little as you’d like to share.

Judy responds personally

She’ll ask a few questions to understand your situation. Every message gets a personal reply.

You find a time to connect

That first conversation is not an evaluation. It’s simply a beginning — a chance for you to share what you are carrying, and for Judy to hear it.

Come as you are. Bring what is real.

Begin a Conversation  No pressure. No intake form. Just a conversation.

Training & certification

ACBC Certified

Judy is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) — the recognized standard for biblical counseling in the local church, requiring formal training, supervised counseling hours, and doctrinal examination.

She counsels from the conviction that Scripture is inerrant and sufficient — that God’s Word speaks to the whole of human experience, including the parts that are hardest to name.

Questions women often ask

What is biblical counseling?

Biblical counseling is a Scripture-rooted conversation that takes your real life seriously. It isn’t a list of verses or a formula handed to you while your pain sits unnamed — it’s care that brings God’s Word, at the pace it needs, to what you’re actually walking through.

Is biblical counseling the same as therapy?

No. Biblical counseling is pastoral, Scripture-anchored care — not clinical diagnosis or treatment. Judy is certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC), not a licensed clinical therapist.

Do I have to be in crisis to begin?

No. You don’t have to be in crisis or have anything figured out. You can begin a conversation whenever you’re ready — come as you are, bring what is real.

Do you counsel couples?

Yes. Judy counsels married and engaged couples alongside her husband, Scott Weckerly — a pastoral team grounded in Scripture.
